Woman Charged With Drug Possession In Nassau County Has Been At Large For Decades

An alert has been issued by New York State Police investigators regarding a woman born in Mexico with ties to Colombia who has been wanted for more than 20 years on Long Island.

Yanet Patricia Arroyo, 57, of Ozone Park, is wanted by New York State Police in Farmingdale after she was arrested on Oct. 6, 1998, by members of the Troop L Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

Arroyo was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy. She was arraigned in Nassau County 1st District Court, an indictment was filed on June 11, 1999, and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Police said that Arroyo has ties to New York City and Queens.

Investigators described Arroyo as 5-foot-4 with brown hair and green eyes. They were only able to provide a sketch of her on the wanted poster.
